Jesus and Me! (J.A.M.)
Every sunday during our 10:30 worship service our children (3 yrs - 5th Grade) leave after worship and our puppet ministry to go to JAM to be taught about God by our dedicated team of volunteers!
Every Sunday morning, during the worship service, a Bible story puppet show is performed. Our pastor's wife, Joni Cabanillas, has written a puppet show for every story in the Bible. The stories are performed in chronological order beginning in Genesis and ending with Revelation. It takes seven years to get through the entire series! Through seeing these bible stories come to life, children remember and are able to apply Biblical truths to their lives. Youth (6th grade and older) and adult thespians serve as the puppeteers. As a part of the "children's moment" in service, the puppet shows are followed by comprehension questions for the kids. This prompts the children to pay attention to the content of each story! Many Sundays the adults learn more about the Bible than the kids! Most of the puppets are hand sewn. If you would like to be a puppeteer and can perform a minimum of once a month let us know! If you are an experienced seamstress and would like to sew large foam people puppets, you may contact our puppetry director directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
